So as I was mentioning yesterday I think it would awesome to have a Jet ski we can all share. I would be willing to front the cash as long as a couple people were willing to put a couple bucks my way to cover some cost. Casey said we could put it at his house. I think if everyone was willing to put in like $40-$50.00 bucks we could get this ski. I would need like 4-5 people to go in on it.
Here is the possible investment if you want to call it that. I am curious if we should just use it for the July trip or keep it. I think it depends on much of a pain the ass the whole thing is. If we do decide to sell it I don't think we will have an issue.

Yes a new old jet ski, so to speak. We will see the guy is bickering over $50.00 sounds like it might be a deal breaker to this moron. I don't think he has had either any resonable offer(s) or any offer at all.
Ok so the next question is if we do get the ski how do we get the thing to Washington? We are taking my boat, Casey's Trailer and the ski. Do we just make a holder on the back of Casey's trailer?

Good work Casey, sounds like a plan. Sounds like we might be in business, I am going to look at it Wednesday and if I like what I see I am going to bring it home. I will need to drop it off at your place Casey. If you get this let me know so we can set something up.

SICK! Those newer Jet Ski's are almost 800cc two strokes! Compare that to the 300cc you're gonna get. It'll still be a blast!!!

Yeah the cock suckers on the PWC site are giving me shit about buying a 300cc sigle cylinder ski but the whole point was to have something we can beat the crap out of and not care at the end of the day if the thing is at the bottom of the lake. It will be great to screw around on and not kill ourselves going 50mph. Kinda glad it is underpowered (not really) because I know how I am on new toys!! Kinda psyched we are getting it tomorrow.

Yeah, and you're not spending $13,000 on a new toy you'll use four times a summer like some of those idiots... Though a 215hp turbo jet ski would be a fun new way to get hurt...

So we are good
the js 300 i sold last year had a push on oil cap under the hood. the gauge is outside the hull left of the hoodlatch. the guage went into a rubber gromet with a lense on top of it. mine leaked water around the lense and into the oil tank because the rubber grommet was old . gave up on trying to get new parts and went premix 50-1.left the tank and guage in place for looks . step sons had a blast riding it. and it wasent to fast for them to learn on. I had a hard time riding it though. I only weigh 215, thats more then all three boys put together. removing th pump is easy,no cable just hoses. good luck and enjoy the smiles on their faces.

A huge thanks to Casey for kickin ass today we are about 3/4 the way done complete the 'Family Jet Ski:". A shout out to Jeremy and Dan who could not be here today but I know you were there in spirit. Here are some updated pics on the progress.
Night one got the ski in Casey's garage started toolin around with it throwing ideas around.
another shot of "Dawn" <---- Previous owners name no joke.
Dan painting the boom
With only the boom painted and some degragatory remarks Casey and I had our work cut out for us.
Casey worked his ass off getting the old mats out of the ski, the damn mats are glued in. Casey comments it is the [only quality product they make]
Finally got the ski to where we could sand it and tape it off for painting.
Painting the beast!!!.
Well there is 5hrs worth of redoing the Family Ski.
Stay tuned for more updates we still need to paint the bottom, put in some hydro turf and possible add LEDs because I love LEDs.

Are you gonna paint and gelcoat or leave it as-is with the black coat? If black I like the snow camo too.

I think we should just go with a appliance epoxy spray paint it seems resilient enough to take the hit from sun/water/etc.. but I think we should spray it with an actual paint or epoxy then seal it with something else. We have the primer coat on so that should make things easier.

I say we rock the yellow camo. Then, we can paint yellow stripes (3 maybe, swept back) and call it the "Killer Bee"!
